Single Mom, I feel for you, I never had kids, just never happened but see how the hardship from many single moms I run into. Keep going, try the churches for food vouchers to local grocery stores, Most generous is the Catholic Church, you don't need to be Catholic, call up church secretary. Try the United Church they are generous too, if you need clothing ask, if you need vouchers ask, need a ride to the doctors office ask your churches, women's groups, org. If you come into money buy a prepaid cell phone, cheaper. I did that.
Daycare is there subsidized ones run by the government there?
Be careful with private babysitters. Can ur mom watch the kids while u go out?
Are the buses nearby,? Here see all the single mom's use the buses.
Sometimes, volunteers in the churches may give rides, ask, post in church bullet boards, lots of seniors with cars and time on their hands.
Go to food banks, some green groups provide free fresh veggise/fruits. Just state ur cause, ASK, doesn't hurt, the more u do the better chance u get ur needs met.
Second Hand thrift stores; clothes for you and kids, u be surprised how people will give u free baby cloths, baby cribs, diapers, ask the second store, but churches here always giving away baby things.
Most employers may not hiring if u know your condition, totally wrong, here they would get in trouble by government if reported. Suggest wear loose tops, say eating more, maybe a customer ser. job where u are sitting done?
I can't imagine how hard it is for you, but I know if you join a church, find one open and friendly , they have committees to help u with stuff. Actually many do have Daycare in the basement of their churches, many here.
Well, just my hints take them or leave them.
Just work on one thing at at a time,
Have a note book and list all the things to be taken care of; the necessities first;
Rent
Food
Prepaid Cell phone, cost maybe 40.OO to buy phone and load up with prepaid cards from retail stores, variety stores. 20-25.00
Transportation (bus tickets, or if you have someone drive for free)
If collection agencies bugging you say you are going for bankruptcy, and check it out if debts you can not manage.
The pressure will be lifted. though credit rating won't be good for 7 years here anyways there might be different.
All the best,
Homelesscatsin
Never give up ask for sign from God, the universe, which way to go with each decision in your journey, ask for good helpful people to come into your life. Let it go and do your stuff and u will be surprised when help comes your way.
